School Holidays Workshops

School holidays workshops (group sessions) will be run by donations over the school holidays. Sessions will be available for all year levels from year 3 to year 12. Sessions will focus on the following topics:

  • Get a head start on the following year level curriculum:
    • Cover the foundations of core topics in preparation for the next school year, so that when the topic comes around at school the next year, you have already seen an introduction to the content.
    • Go through the conceptual understanding of the topic, with a focus on ‘how’ and ‘why’ the maths works.
  • Catch-up on any topics that were challenging during the current year level:
    • Fill gaps from any topic, or revise concepts that you may have scored lower on, or didn’t understand during the year.
  • Have a space to ask questions and seek clarification on the maths content.
  • Year 3 – 4
  • Year 5 – 6
  • Year 7
  • Year 8
  • Year 9
  • Year 10
  • Year 11 (seperate workshops for General/Standard and Methods/Advanced curriculum)
  • Year 12 (General/Standard Maths curriculum)
  • Group Workshops: $80/hr per person
  • Individual (one-on-one) tutoring: $100/hr

Occasionally I run Group Workshops by donation – last year nearly all of my individual sessions were booked out, so this year I have decided to launch group workshops by donations with the intention of making tutoring affordable and accessible to all students – there is now more availability for students to attend and parents can pay what they can afford. My intention is that it will allow students to get the help they need and continue with tutoring over the long term. (Primary – Year 10 Group Workshops are run by donation).

(Donations are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a session, please feel free to attend one in a following offering).

Donations for workshops:
There are two options for donating for a workshop: direct bank deposit (I receive 100% of the amount donated) or using the Stripe platform via my donations page (I receive 98.3% of the amount donated).

  • Online Sessions – capped at 10 students per workshop:
Online sessions run via Zoom in an interactive and engaging format. Maths topics will be visually demonstrated using Zoom’s whiteboard feature. Students are also able to write on the whiteboard, allowing collaboration and interactivity throughout the whole lesson.
  • Face-to-Face Sessions – capped at 7-10 students per workshop:
Currently meeting at the University of the Sunshine Coast (Sippy Downs Campus). Meeting point will be provided upon booking.

Please note: Students should be ready with their devices five minutes prior to their session start time.

Workshop times will be posted in the lead up to the school holidays. Times are subject to change. All times are in QLD time (AEST) year round. For students attending from NSW, TAS and VIC, please add one hour to the listed time during term 1 and term 4 (timezone difference does not apply during term 2 and term 3).

  • If a workshop is cancelled for the week, an email will be sent out to all registered participants notifying them of the change.
  • Parents are welcome to sit in on tutoring sessions / workshops. Attending tutoring does not replace parental supervision.
